Organza Hype at Rochas

Light, sheer and elegant; Organza was practically made for this Spring's sherbet pastel craze. My particular favourite on the catwalk was Rochas, with creative director Zanini describing the collection as a "journey through the vortex of cinema" with references to Hitchcock and Burton.
Whilst Hitchcock's influences can be identified with the charming kerchiefs and lady-like A-line cuts, Tim Burton's lingering presence is cemented with Zanini's dramatic cat-eye sunglasses and dreamy summer jackets. The collection focused on mixing fabrics, proving lace and knit to be perfect sidekicks to the graceful fabric.

On the High Street, these are my favourite finds...

1. ASOS Africa Skirt
2. STYLE NANDA Halter Top

New Love Club

New Love Club uses graphic prints, modernist photography and sharp illustration on their signature  t-shirts. A hybrid mix of colour and black and white throughout the range, it is the abstract print on each piece that brings the unisex collection together. They claim that their designs have "the feeling of nostalgia with a modern interpretation." And if that's too much for your wardrobe, they also sell posters of their graphic prints too! You may notice their model from Channel 4's "Dirty Sexy Things" last summer...

Jervoise

Brightening up your average vintage denim item, Zoe Jervoise is all about creating unique one-off designs. Worn by Marina and the Diamonds, Ellie Goulding, Emma Watson and White Lies, the renewed denim jackets, shorts and dungarees have taken off since 2011.
Inspired by her mother's art and tapestry designs, Jervoise's artistic influences come from all around the world. In particular, Indian designs from the 1960s are incorporated into her collections with a certain mythical nature about them. Now sold at Topshop, Oxford Street, and ASOS. I particularly like their dungarees for the summer.

Evil Twin

Jodie McKenzie explores a darker personality with her designs at Evil Twin. The name explains the brand, with the Australian designer gaining inspiration from her twin’s 80s inspired dark style. Channeling this sinister vibe with her latest collection ‘The Night is For Hunting’, an essence of both grunge and punk are blended to create an intriguing and wearable look book. Black leather skirts and trousers are re-energized with tie-dye print crop tops, graphic tees and sheer unfitted shirts. Paint-splattered jackets and dresses are combined with the brand’s signature hat in every picture. Colour wise, there is anything from burnt oranges and reds to military inspired khaki and of course black.
As well as her sister, McKenzie claims to be inspired by Australian street style, resulting in her collections being not only wearable but also suited for every body type.  With the collection now being sold at both Urban Outfitters and ASOS, Australian street style looks to be the way forward.

Just Acces

On the high street it is often difficult to find unique pieces at reasonable prices. Whatever I usually buy at Topshop I will then find a similar version of in Miss Selfridge the week after. This is where jewellery brand Just Acces has found its niche.

The brand makes neo-gothic pieces, taking its influence from traditional Indian body jewellery. Although ear cuffs and hand harnesses can be found on the high street, Just Acces' interpretations offer something more intricate and personal. What's more, they give elegance an edge using feathers, spikes and crosses aplenty.

Sold on Asos prices are just as cheap as that of the high street's.

Here are the 2 items I'm hoping to receive for Christmas...
